How are ya'll doing? I hope everyone is doing Awesome and enjoying the new year so far. For me I've been sick since Sunday so I haven't been feeling to well and today I actually lost my voice ;0( But anywho today I will be talking about when is a good time to replace or toss out makeup. I thought this would be a great post to share since we are now in a new year and we should start off with clutter free makeup.
It happens to all of us! We buy one mascara, two lipsticks, a couple of eyeshadows here and there... Then there you have it! We are overwhelmed with makeup everywhere, but not sure exactly what to keep and what to toss out. Keep in mind just like food, makeup has a shelf life too. Keeping makeup around way too long can cause the risk of infecting your skin with bacteria.
The following steps are easy and simple and will help you clear your cosmetic clutter...
STEP 1
Get some colored sticky dots
STEP 2
Write the date on the sticker when you need to replace or toss out the product
Write the date on the sticker when you need to replace or toss out the product
STEP 3
Place the sticker on the bottom of the product
There you have it! Your all done and now you know when you will need to replace this item. Didn't I tell you it was real easy and simple!
I purchased this Revlon Colorstay Liquid foundation in October 2010 for my makeup kit and the recommended time to keep liquids is 6 months so on the bottom I placed an expiration sticker. This way when the expiration date comes I know when to purchase a new one.
Here's a recommended Guide
Liquid Foundations- 6 months to 1 year
Powders- 1 year
Cream products- 1 year
Lipstick and Lipgloss- 1 year
Pencils (eyes and lips)- 3 years but remember to sharpen regularly
Cleansers and moisturizers- 6 months
Mascara- 3 months
I hope this was helpful! I love you dolls ;0)
And thank you for stopping by my blog!
