Fall Peachy Makeup

Good Morning Dolls!

It's Monday and in a couple of hours I will be heading back to work after a 4 day weekend. Boy oh boy! Did I enjoy these past 4 days. I got to spend time with my family, my boys, rest, and do my makeup. So with that being said it's Monday and since I don't wear makeup to work I hope you dolls enjoyed the looks I've posted this past weekend.

I'll be back with more looks this coming weekend. But before I go I wanted to share with y'all my makeup that I wore to church thus  Sunday. I absolutely love peachy tones on Women of Color. This is a look I normally do in the Spring/Summer but I wanted to make it wearable for Fall. Since Orange and Blue cross cancel each other on the color wheel I decided to pair peachy tones with Teal. So I turned a Spring makeup look into a Fall/Holiday makeup look. I think this look is soft enough for a work party and the pop of color works great for a night time holiday party.

I really loved how it turned out and you can tell because I got selfie happy lol :)

Feeling Steamy in Fall

Hey Dolls,

I'm backkkkkkk!

I've been gone for a minute (1 year and 5 months to be exact) but now I'm back.

I'll update you in a later post of all the happenings that have been going on and why I've been absent.

This is a makeup look I did for work yesterday. I usually don't wear makeup to work but we had a Friendsgiving Day and I wanted to look nice. MAC Steamy use to be one of my favorite eyeshadow and I haven't used it in forever so when I saw a minty aqua color in my cardigan, even though it's not a Fall color I just knew I had to bust out my steamy. I'm glad I did too because I got tons of compliments on my makeup and how pretty my eyeshadow color was. So I was winning! Lol

Here's a few pics...

MAC Blue Brown Pigment

Hey Dolls!

I wanted to share something with you dolls that I've had for forever but have been sleeping on it. A friend of mines gave me this MAC pigment that she got from a Holiday collection years ago... MAC Blue Brown Pigment!

MAC Blue Brown pigment is a duochrome color. A duochrome color is a color that shifts between 2 different colors. It's like getting 2 colors for the price of 1 ;0)

MAC Blue Brown pigment is brown with blue/green pearl

Here's a swatch of MAC Blue Brown Pigment without any base

Here's a swatch of MAC Blue Brown Pigment with a Black base

When you apply MAC Blue Brown pigment on top of a black base (I used NYX Jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Black bean) the green pearls in the pigment show up. I think this would make a gorgeous smokey eye.

I used MAC Blue Brown Pigment on the outer 1/2 of my lid which for some reason the brown look more reddish brown.

Here's the look I came up with using the pigment

On to the makeup...

FACE
Primer: MAC Prep + Prime and MAC Oil Control lotion
Foundation: Revlon Colorstay in Cappuccino
Powder: MAC Studio fix NW50
Blush: MAC Raizin and Pinch me
Bronzer: CG Queen collection bronzer in ebony bronze

BROWS
MAC Espresso eyeshadow
N.Y.C Brow wax
MAC Studio Finish Concealer in NW45

EYES
Primer: TFSI
Inner 1/2 of Lid: MAC Steamy eyeshadow
Outer 1/2 of Lid: MAC Blue Brown pigment
Brow bone: MAC Texture eyeshadow
Highlight: MAC Ricepaper eyeshadow
Outer v: MAC Embark eyeshadow
Liner: Maybelline gel liner in Blackest black
Lashes: Red Cherry #43

LIPS
Liner: NYX Espresso

MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation: Thoughts & Swatches

MAC Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation

Product: 4 out of 5

Formula: 4 out of 5

Packaging: 5 out of 5

Quality: 4 out of 5

How much does it cost? $29.50

Where to buy? MAC Cosmetics

Would I recommend it? Yes, for Dry skin types

I love that the MAC Studio Sculpt foundation has a squeezable tube!

Here's a Swatch of the shade I purchased. I purchased Studio Sculpt in NW45.

Advantages
* I love the packaging

*Love that it comes in a Squeezable tube ;0)

* It has a gel-formula and feels smooth when applying on the skin

*Doesn't look cakey or heavy when applied

*Makes dry skin look absolutely flawless

*I love that the foundation squeezes out in little dots so it makes it easy to apply

*It leaves a Dewy finish on your skin

*It has alot of SPF in the foundation and didn't create a white or gray cast in photos

Disadvantage
* It caused me to breakout really bad

*After a couple of hours I needed to touch up my foundation -not good staying power because I have oily skin

*Not good on Oily skin, hint keyword "Hydrating foundation"

*the price in my opinion wasn't affordable

My Overall experience
When I first brought this foundation I wasn't aware that it was meant for dry skin. The MAC makeup artist (that I go to faithfully) recommend it to me and I'm a foundation junkie so I wanted to try something new. If I would have known that it was going to break me out for over a month I would have never brought it. I used it for 3 days and than I broke out everywhere :(
I went back to the counter to figure out what was going on and a couple of MAC artist told me alot of people with Oily Skin had been bring it back with complaints of it breaking them out, so I wasn't the only one. Besides the fact that my skin broke out I did love the feel of the foundation. When I applied it the gel formula feels so smooth and creamy against my skin I loved it. I thought the foundation was going to look heavy or caked on because of the gel formula but it didn't at all and I loved the squeezable tube so much, that was probably my favorite thing about it.

TIP: If you have dry skin that I think this is just the perfect foundation for you to try ;0)

I hope this was helpful and thank you Loves for stopping by my blog!

MAC Pro LongWear Foundation: Thoughts & Swatches

Photobucket

Hey Dolls!

A couple of weeks ago I decided to run to the MAC store and pick up there new MAC Pro LongWear foundation. I had been hearing nothing but great things about it! But before I ran out and bought it I did watched a couple of youtube reviews on it and read a couple of reviews. Everyone seemed to really be loving it and saying how it really stays on for 15 hours, so I was extremely excited. But on it me it was a completely different story...

...It was absolutely horrible on me :(

When i made it to the MAC store I first notice that the colors were way off. I'm a NW45 and the NW45 looked really, really light. In the bottle it looked like a peachy orange color, so I asked if I could test the shade out. It was extremely light on me and looked white. So, than I asked can I see a NW50 which in the Studio Fluid is super dark on me, but in the MAC Pro LongWear the NW50 was light like the NW45. I asked the MAC girl why are the shades so much lighter than the Studio Fluid and she said they weren't. So when she applied the NW50 on me it was white on me too. It looked horrible!! I decided to buy it anyways because I wanted to try it at home in natural light and give it some time to set in. I figured it would set in and change to the correct color on my skin after a couple of hours. So, when I got home I washed my face, applied my moisturizer and face primer, than later applied the MAC Pro LongWear foundation in NW50 to my face. It was absolutely horrible!!! It stayed white on my face!! I took a couple of pictures than took it off faster than you can say MAC! I didn't like it at all and will never wear it or buy it again. I'm just going to stick with my Revlon Colorstay foundation.

Here's a swatch

So, After hearing all these great reviews about the MAC Pro LongWear foundation I'm just wondering is it just me?? Am I'm the only one who feels this way?

Let me know what you Dolls think about the MAC Pro LongWear foundation?
